We had an awesome first day of school!!! We read "First Day Jitters", made Jitter Juice, colored, organized our school supplies, went to P.E.and Music, did some getting to know you activities, went to the all school assembly, and finished the day in art. Can't wait for Day 2 tomorrow!

Then our first day of school is Tuesday, August 14th! Red Ribbon Week is this coming week. Here are the daily events....
Tuesday, October 25 - "School Spirit Day" Students wear your SOAR shirts or any Sunset shirt you have! Wednesday, October 26 - "Team Day" Students wear a t-shirt or jersey of your favorite sports team! Thursday, October 27 - "Pajama Day" Students wear your pajamas to school! Don't forget your tennis shoes for P.E.! Friday, October 28 - "Grade Level Color Day" Students in 1st grade are wearing red! Monday, October 31 - "Halloween Costume Day" Students wear your Halloween costumes for the Halloween parade @ 8:45! Students attended the play James and the Giant Peach at the
Salina Community Theatre. We enjoyed it!!! Students celebrated Constitution Day all week. Some of the activities included having Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Hall, read aloud "We the Kids" about the Preamble to the Constitution. First graders also had a red, white, and blue day. Students who receive SOAR slips throughout the month get put into a drawing for prizes. This month Trite won the chance to eat at Eagle Lunch and Ross won a free t-shirt!
